mark52230
Is there a central volume control for Mandrake? If it makes a difference I'm using KDE.. It's just that I've got my speakers on full volume and put KsCD on full volume but I still only get about half the volume coming out that I can when I'm using windows.. Thanks for any help

redvamp128
Silly question you do have 3 cables connected to your cdrom. Power- IDE cable then the Aux cable that Connects Cdrom to Sound Card (usually is 3 connection to 3 Connection)

redvamp128
Only other option is to check site of sound card manufacturer for updated sound drivers. I know with mine the ones included were not the best. Though now I am not running linux as mutch as I used to.
kemical
if alsa moduels are the ones from the kernel there is no need for updated drivers
