Malechai Veteran Posted April 16, 2004 Veteran Share Posted April 16, 2004 Hi guys.. so I'm trying out Linspire (yea yea) and I've installed it under MS Virtual PC 2004. Anyways, the emulated sound card doesnt work (Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 ISA Plug and Play).. does anyone know how to get it to work? I know absolutely nothing about linux so please if you're going to help, write out step by step instructions. thanks!
markwolfe Veteran Posted April 16, 2004 Veteran Share Posted April 16, 2004 All I can say is that when used as a virtual PC, your Linux doesn't really get to see the hardware, just what the virtual software tells it. Maybe they aren't working well together. :( SB 16 is pretty standard. Hope this bump gets others who are more experienced to see and help!

Nichotin
heh. microsoft virtual pc 2004 doesnt really even support linux. try vmware for a change. its faster and the virtual hardware works smoother
Malechai Veteran Posted April 16, 2004 Author Veteran Share Posted April 16, 2004 heh? why is it funny? MS VPC 2004 doesn't "officially" support linux but they do install and work. this is just a tiny thing and i was hoping to fix it. I'm not going to change the VPC software I use because of it. Mark - thanks I'll try that
