mugs
i have a (windows) iPod, i just got it for my birthday, and i wasn't sure where to put this...but here goes.. since i dont have firewire on my PC, i decided to transfer my songs over to my laptop, a sony vaio..it has the 4 pin firewire port i put the install disk and everything goes good, and then it asks me to configure the ipod, and i plug the ipod into the firewire port, and the computer doesn't recognize the iPod, does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Bling3k12
What generation? Is it the latest one? My friend installed iTunes and it told him it needed to be formatted for Windows before it could be used properly, so you might wanna do that. lilmoonee
need it set it to disk mode.... connect the ipod to computer restart ipod by pressing and holding menu and play. then when the apple logo comes up press and hold rewind and fast forward. it should mount as a disk. be quick tho, as it is running off its battery. oik
after you installed everything, did you restart? i know it sounds insignificant, especially in the windows world, but it has helped me out everytime my ipod was not appearing. btw, it's not "god damn apple and their firewire". i know this is going to come as a surprise to you, but firewire came out in the mid-90's. vendors have had all this time to implement the technology, but don't. so shouldn't it be "god damn ____" insert whoever made your pc.
