Tim Dorr Veteran Posted April 19, 2004 Veteran Share Posted April 19, 2004 I would get it, but once you're a student. If you do it then, you can get an educational discount and only pay $187 bucks, which is more worth it than $250, to me.
Cowpie
Its a tough call, if you are going to be using it out of your house or office(wherever its located) quite often, then I would say go for it..... For me, the peace of mind alone is worth that $180 :)
oik
$187??? *runs over to apple.com* oh, i'm not getting an ibook :p see, the college i am going to is offering a package... 15.2", 1.25ghz g4, 512mb ram, 80gb hd, bt, ae, superdrive, and 3 yrs. applecare for $2300... that's the price without applecare on the education site. really i was just wondering whether i should get this, or if apple updates their laptops on monday (hey, wait, that's tomorrow! sweet!), and see what is put at the $2300 level. Gary_Player
Apple care for powerbooks is $350, with education discount its $250 but thats still alot :s
neowin_hipster
I got apple care just because i know people who've needed it before. Warrenties are always an iffy issue, but i figure why the hell not. for an ibook it wasn't much extra. I got an edu discount.
Xyan
I like APP for my iBook, hasn't failed me so far...and if you're like me, then Murphy's law (The worst possible thing will happen at the worst possible time) is in effect 24 hours a day ;)
