ibook_gurl
just wondering if putting my ibook in its second skin folder while it was sleeping was a bad thing to do? :/ put this in wrong section sorry
Si Veteran Posted April 19, 2004 Veteran Share Posted April 19, 2004 I wouldn't have thought so, sleep turns the hard disk off, and the heat produced is greatly reduced
oik
actually i think the only thing still active in your ibook is the ram and a little sensor that can tell when it is closed or open.
frod
your ibook should be creating little to no heat during that time so it should be fine. the only thing i'd worry about is the ibook opening up while it's in there. (this happens to my powerbook in my backpack sometimes). this is why they recommend having your laptop case be as snug as possible. but even then, your laptop shouldn't be doing much and probably won't create that much heat. BTallack
Nope. It's perfectly fine. My Powerbook generates no heat in sleep as the CPU is turned off. I keep it in my bag in sleep mode for days on end sometimes.

BTallack
lol no wonder my iBook when i left one day was at 78% in sleep when i got home it was only 77% Yep, it basically just has to keep enough power running to save the contents of the RAM. Hence why it slowly goes down. If you left it in sleep unplugged for 2 weeks, the battery would likely die.
