pirokiko
Okay, got a bit of a weird problem her. I've installed Fedora Core 1, and uprgaded the kernel to 2.6.5 without issue. Suddenly i have support for my Centrino Chipset and decent graphics support! W00! But here is where my problems lie. Since i've installed the new kenerl, every time i boot it 're-detects' my Via Rhine III NiC, which means on each boot i need to reconfigure it which is a bit of a pain to say the least. The other problem i'm having is, my soundcard seems to of stopped working. Now i've selected OSS and the driver for the Intel i8xx soundcard (According to the old Kernel i have an Intel i810 sound card, which worked fine before hand). Have i missed something crucial? Other than that, i now have a fast and responsive kernel, which is soo to be augmented with fluxbox and kde 3.2.1 with any luck!
kongit
disable kudzu (I forgot how) to keep it from redetecting stuff. For sound, I think that the oss drivers might have a different name then the ones in the 2.4 kernel. I am not exaclty sure about this.
