Alright, opinions may be different, stuff may be forgotten, but here's my reviews topic for food.

If there's something you'd like me to review or add, let me know!

I'll constantly add to this topic as I have time.

Nestle's Milo (Europe/Austrailia/NZ)

Powder Mix:

med_1220.jpg

Unfortunately we americans do not have regular access to the milo assortment :(

Milo is a chocolate mix by nestle containing barley, and it is most excellent when made properly.

Not exactly sweet, but it contains a moderate chocolate taste with a twist of barley, which makes for a very addicting drink.

Step 1:

Take a large glass, place approximately 3 tablespoons of milo per 12oz

Step 2:

Add a small amount (1oz) of milk per 3 tablespoons of milo

Step 3:

Mix thoroughly, you should have a thin paste, try to work it down to have less lumps

Step 4:

Add cream (optional) and milk (whole is best) to fill half the glass, mix thoroughly, fill remainder of glass.

Step 5:

Start preparing another glass, and start glugging.

This stuff will go fast, and it's quite refreshing. Nestle needs to market this in the US asap. Milo can also be made hot or cold, and I know many like to use water with it as well, but I think best results are obtained with milk.

Pros:

Quick

Addictingly good

Cons:

Not sold in the US

*could* have a stronger taste

Sags "Edibles" Score: 9.2

Cereal:

8319.jpg

Another non-american item, but not nearly as good as the powder mix.

This item is quite comparable to coco-puffs with more of an empty/healthy/"wheat" flavor, unfortunately I don't have much to say about this product, I'm not thrilled about it.

After consuming, you have chocolate milk to drink left in the bowl

Pros:

Chocolate milk left in the bowl

Neutrals:

Chocolately, but not addictive like the powder mix.

Cons:

Rough on the mouth

Better cereals are out there, namely reeses puffs.

Sags "Edibles" Score: 5.5

Drink:

milo-can.jpg

This one I'm glad we don't have in america, it's pretty bad.

Think water + mild bland chocolate taste. I don't have much more to say on this product. Not bad tasting, but definately not good.

Sags "Edibles" Score: 2.5

I'll delete this post in a few minutes, all responses will go through my first replies to keep clutter down, if you can, do the same :)

RE: How do I do that - Looks like you can't delete posts anymore, dang.

Mods/Admins, can I have my own food & reviews section? :D

Would be nice to have reviews of drinks too...

Like orange juice. So far, the one I like most is Tropicana, 100% Pure Orange Juice. The stuff I had last from Minute Maid, enriched with Vitamin D, tasted a bit fake, like they'd slipped some other type of juice into it. Have to admit though, if you got stomach problems, might be good to steer clear of Tropicana, the stuff is pretty damn acidic...might be killing me or something...

hey, isn't this forum for hardware and software only?

and for Milo, you forgot to put "after finished stirring, put another teaspoon of Milo for garnish". ;) Milo is also great with ice-cream

edit: i'll scan some Milo labels for you guys in a few minutes.

Milo...you can do anything with it

Put it on roast beef even ;)

Good reviews so far!

Why is the milo cerial rated so low!

its not that bad is it? i know it soaks up moisture in the air like nothing else...so it must be eaten quickly!

The cereal is by no means bad, but it's nothing spectacular, other cereals (reeses puffs for instance) beat this flat out.

milo is sold in the us, but you need to find the right stores. lots of asian grocery stores carry it.

i always preferred ovaltine to milo, though, but that's just personal taste. :)

Just to add to the first post!!

Milo was launched in Australia in the early 1930's and today it is a leading brand in the chocolate malt beverage category worldwide.

It is an energy and health beverage to be prepared with hot or cold milk.

Milo is made from natural ingredients with energy releasing B vitamins and minerals to help consumers stay full of energy, vitality and health. It provides the necessary energy to do well in sports and in the classroom and is an ideal everyday energy drink for growing children and teenagers.

Perhaps it is most famous for its well loved taste. 20 million cups of Milo are drunk everyday. :D
