markwolfe Veteran Posted April 22, 2004 Veteran Share Posted April 22, 2004 If you are just looking for an icon, I think that the customizing section would get you better results... As for how to make and icon for a Linux app, I know that there is a great tutorial on the KDE-look website, I believe (one of the KDE related sites, for sure). They even tell you how to design it to 'blend' with the KDE themes. Or just paste in there whatever suits you best!

AquaFX
alright well, if you can you alteast tell me how to convert a Windows .ico to a Linux compatible icon?
markwolfe Veteran Posted April 23, 2004 Veteran Share Posted April 23, 2004 I have never converted an icon, but if you can get the image from Windows, you should be able to read up here: http://artist.kde.org/guidelines.html and see what kde-look.org has to say about how to create KDE icons. (they talk about the different sizes and color depths you should put into your icon file, and probably say how to do it using "Icon Editor" [run as program kiconedit, or find it in your graphics menus] as well)
