Redhat Linux Package Management

alright, trying to get stuff to work on Redhat but i need the kernel source to be installed. In order for me to install the kernel source i am guessing i have to Add/Remove Packages and then select the package Kernel Development to install. When i do that it gives me this error can someone please hlelp me out by telling me how to install those packages, Will appricieate it =)

I havent used Redhat in a long time but you should have the option to install all the development packages... like a check box or something. What happens when you try to do that?

alright well, there is no way for me to select individual packages i mean i can go to detail and select stuff there but it keeps giving me the same error as above..i need a way to install every single package...

what the heck it didn't let me upload my ss png i was gonna show you, it said your not allowed to upload that type of file type..wtf the first pic i posted is a png...weird...

Open up your add/remove packages thing and select the following:

  • Development Tools
  • Kernel Development

To see sub-categories, and pick the exact individual packages needed, click the "Details" link to the right of each category. (Y)

ahhh thanks but it said the same thing so i just reinstalled but this time i selected Kernel Develpoment kit from the actual install and it worked fine..thankx guys
