Bling3k12
Just a small question. When playing the game, does it run at the native PB resolution (1280 by 854) or does it run at something like 1024x768 and just scale? Thanks in advance.
SonComet
I don't really have an answer for you, but I would assume that it would not support a 3:2 widescreen aspect ratio. If it does support widescreen it is most likely the 16:10 ratio that is typical of widescreen computer monitors. Although you may yet have hope. I have heard that ut2004 can be modified to support 1280x854 fairly easily. I read how to do this on the macrumors forums so if you need to know how I suggest searching there. Maybe the same thing can be done to sim city 2004.
Steve
How would it even run on a recent PowerBook? Anyone got anything?
BTallack
NeYo: It runs very well on my 12" 1GHz Powerbook.

Well I figure Aspyr would add in certain resolutions for Macs, like the resolutions for the line of Cinema Displays and the PowerBook's resolutions, along with the standard 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024... BTallack
I just looked at the settings in the game. There are NO widescreen resolutions available. None. So yes, it will be stretched. You won't notice it that much though.
zivan56
There may be a config file for the game somwhere in which you can specify a custom resolution. I do this with most games, as my laptop uses 1280x800 widescreen.
hoyablue
Works well on my 17inch, 512mb ram, 64mb vram PB:-) And yes, it is stretched. I've read of many individuals trying to modify the resolution through the config files but without success. I'm not too sure, but I think a recent patch made it so the user could press some key before the game started up to select a custom resolution. aldo
It runs suprisingly great on an iBook 800 aswell. However, it sucks when you get a good city going and it slows to a crawl (this happens on my 2ghz PC).
aaron901
it sucked on my 1GHz TiBook, probably because of the old video card or ram. ;)
Bling3k12
Well I took a look at the developer specs, and it looks like I'll be running the game at 1152x768 in square mode, just to make it look the best it can.
