New Microsoft Optical Wireless Mouse

Microsoft will soon release its first optical wireless mouse. The Microsoft WireLess IntelliMouse Explorer sports a stylish Titanium finish and has been designed by ergonomic experts: the contoured shape supports your hand while soft touch sides provide unsurpassed comfort. The optical sensor has been totally revamped and now tracks movement by scanning your desktop 6,000 times per second (more than two times faster than any other mouse), plus it's compatible with even more surfaces. With 5 programmable buttons including a scrolling wheel the mouse needs two AA batteries to operate. The new accelerated scrolling wheel technology reacts to how quickly you roll the wheel saving you time and effort. Finally the mouse includes an exclusive power saving technology that make your batteries last at least 4 months in intensive use: since the mouse includes a sensor the red beam is only lighted when you put your hand on the mouse. Plus the red beam intensity varies depending to the color of the surface where the mouse is working to further save energy. The mouse is expected to be available on October 15th for a suggested retail price of $79.

Just thought some of you wight like to know, ActiveWin has a picture of the new mouse on the frontpage, looks

, very

$79? Ouch, hope that is merely the "suggested retail price" and not the actual price. I hope that MS decides to drop that price with a swiftness. I'll go buy the Logitech wireless optical cheaper before buying the MS mouse.
