SPeedY_B
Just wanted to post this to see if everyone else experienced the same and my Safari isn't just acting screwy :D I have open two safari windows next to each other on the screen, for this example, I'll just call them left and right Open a page in each browser (Doesn't matter what, as long as there are some links) Focus on left by cliking the window, or an empty space on the page now command-click a link on right the tab opens in left this also works if you focus on right then command-click in left I'm using Safari v125.1 and 10.3.

danbalsh
To borrow a few words from the x86 crew....."It's not a bug, it's a feature." Ha...Ha.. ;) I think this 'bug' does actually make sense, your clicking a link so you must want to view it, hence why it appears in the selected window. Thats my understanding of it anyway.
SPeedY_B
I agree that it does make sense, but I'm just curious if it was intentional :)
Fusion
Most are right. This is not a bug, it is the way it is meant to be. You can however install an extension that will change this behavior and also add the ability to combine all your tabs in all windows into one window. It's on apple's site somewhere. Callaway
amazing...they can put that feature in but not a print button.
the evn show
I'd guestimate this is intentional.. in OS X holding the command button while clicking alters the background window while not actually selecting it. CMD+Tab is "open link in tab in current window" as opposed to cmd+option+tab which is "open tab in new window behind this window" so it follows that CMD+tab would launch the tab in the focused window and not in a background window. You'll probably find people who argue both sides of the meaning of CMD+tab: 1) "Open link in new tab in this window" 2) "Open link in new tab in current window" I agree with #2 and so does apple. CMD+tab as it exists now allows you to open links from one window in another specific window that is already open, switching the behavior to open in "this" window would trap your links in one window. There are other reasons that this behavior is preferable, but that's the main reason I prefer it.
