Crowmac
Right then, I have only had my mac for 3 days now and i have been a bit puzzled by something. I know how to take a screenshot of my desktop but it is confusing me why it comes up as a .pdf, is there a quick way of changing it to a jpg or another file extension? As i really want to post a screenshot and upload it to neowin. Thanks all for taking the time to look at this topic for me.

Steve
thedose, is there a screen of your workspace? ( would love to see all the macs )sry for thread hijaack :p There's a Mac desktops thread in this forum! ;) Crowman. Panther has something called 'Folder Actions'. Basically you can attach a script to a folder, and the script will work on the fly, with stuff added to the folder you've attached the script to. I have a script applied to a folder, and basically when I drag in a PDF, it creates a jpg straight away. Its really nice. Wasn't sure if you knew about that, but 'Folder Actions' is under-rated as a feature of Panther, IMO.

aristotle-dude
Are you using Panther? If you are, go to /Applications/AppleScript Run "Folder Actions Setup". This will give you a context menu to attach a script to a folder. I have a folder on my desktop with Duplicate as Jpeg script attached.

Steve
The easiest way to attach (IMO) is control click the folder you want to attach it to, and select 'Attach a Folder Action...' :p
