Linux won't install KDE

I dont know if im in the right forum but if im not just move it to the right directory.

If i install KDE with Linux 9.2 then i just get stuck at:

Linux Mandrake (FiveStar) 9.2

Localhost root: when i enter here my user and pasw

Localhost password: when i enter here my user and pasw

He wont go further then that.....He wont start KDE. And i did another install on my pIII 800 same install but there it just works.....-_-

if i enterd: kde he giving ERRORs with no screens found etc etc. if i push dir i only got drakx and tmp no more....

well i dont know what i do wrong my pc where it dont wanna work is:

1800+

256 MB DDR

Ati-Radeon 9600 256mb DDR

2x CDrom (1x 52x 1x Cdwriter: 52x32x52x)

Gigabyte Motherboard GA-7DXR+

If someone can give me a tip how to fix it ty! (or just say: in 10.0 your problem will be fixed) I HOPE!! ^^

ummm , ok.

You type your username... ?

and then your password (which may or may not be visible while you're typing it, I don't use KDE) <Be quiet, you have no idea how many people have 'defective' password boxes... 'it's not showing little asterixes!!!!'> :rolleyes:

and since you're using the graphical login, you can probably select which Window menager you want at boot... and the other ones work?

We will need to see what errors, and what the contents of your /etc/X11/XF86Config file are.
