hornett
Nice one! This is great for me, cos I just ruined my test 2 installation! :D Edit: Is the fourth CD needed? I can't remember if it was required last time I installed... Edited April 28, 2004 by hornett
KenLin
My test 2 installation was ruined as soon as it finished. :o I've never seen a buggier beta in my life. I'm waiting for reviews of the final version before trying it again.
mark52230
Has anyone installed it yet? Does it seem any good for a test release? I tried tests 1 and 2 and they seemed a bit too buggy so I was wondering about test 3? Also, could I update test 3 to the final fedora core 2 when it's released using up2date? Thanks to any1 who can ansa my questions
Moparx
running perfectly stable here. :)
hornett
Loads of problems for me with this version ... luckily I kept my modprobe.conf from my previous working install, so I can at least boot and get into X with working peripherals now. Plus, I chose a custom set of software to install (like joe rather than emacs) but it installed the default anyway which was irritating since I had to learn the emacs key controls before I could fix my settings. Smitjel
So.. which GCC they are using this time? GCC33? GCC34? GCC35?... Per the release notes, gcc34...is this a problem for you? http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedo...ELEASE-NOTES-en
slapnuts_ox
to explain the gcc problem basically gcc33 was stable and gcc34 was still in devel. since they wanted to get some experience in with gcc34 and see how the redhat patches would work on it. however it is important to have a stable compiler to compile the software with so they included gcc33. now that gcc34 is stable they are releasing fedora core 2 with gcc34. it makes sense to me.
