USB MODEM

Recommended Posts

Hey

Before I move over to Linux, is it possible to use my USB Cable modem with out the use of a NIC?

If it is possible can some one tell me how?

I have a Ambit modem from NTL (little grey box)

Thanks

Not sure if my ethernet port on the modem is broke.

Ever time I try to report it they claim "We do not support ethernet connections"

Is there any type of cable I need?

I have the same USB modem and I am sure that it auto-configured when I tried both knoppix and red hat.
