tiger2k
I bough an ipod about 2 months ago, i know the battery life was expected to go weak after a year or so but after 2 months it only lasts about 3hrs of play back. do you guys think that if i go back to the apple store they might exchange it back for another one or try to fix the problem if there is a problem? i don't remember buying any type of warranty so thats why im asking cuz im not too sure. kitteny_berk
legally you normally have a year's warranty no matter what (i'm in the uk, so can't be sure) but bad ipod batteries are a well known and documented problem
acoustikrage
all new iPods come with a one year manufacturer warranty. so if you bought yours 2 months ago, you're covered. you can bring it to an apple store or contact apple support and anything they do will be free of charge during the duration of the warranty. they'll either try to fix your iPod or just replace it with a new/refurbished one. saxondale.
i hate to admit it, but i have had mine since january i think, and it only holds bout 3hrs playback, 4hrs max
hanxuuk
I think the 8 hour play back time is based on ideal condition which are: No skipping, no back light, vol at 50% and most importantly bit rate at 128 AAC
Chicane-UK Veteran Posted May 1, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 1, 2004 Yeah.. I get pretty crappy playback time on my 20GB iPod which is about 6 months old. But as others have said, if you get it configured for its 'ideal playing mode' then that time can be greatly expanded.. I like the backlight, and I like to skip between playlists quite a lot.
