am_fek
I really, really like Unison. But it's time for a new version guys, it's still missing some basic features.
session
do you get to use unison once you pay it? or you have to pay every month?
Tim Dorr Veteran Posted May 1, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 1, 2004 Unison itself is pay-once. Your newsgroup service may or may not be pay-per-month. Some ISPs provide it with their service, but filter binary service. That might be why you're not getting results, GFoLife. You'll have to find a newsgroups service that allows binaries, which usually involves a cost (because of the cost of bandwidth)
dole
how exactly does this program work? i downloaded it, it looks pretty neat but i can't get it to work. Maybe i'm not connected to a good server? i see these video games and wonder if theyre for download or what but i click the system and that one file comes up...help would be very much appreciatedthanks Who is your ISP? Like timdorr mentioned, some ISPs will block binary newsgroups. I had Verizon DSL for about 4 years and I must say they probably have the best newsserver for an ISP. No download caps and they do not filter out the binary newsgroups. Now I have Earthlink which has a 5GB cap per 30 day for each email account I have, which isn't too bad because if I go over the download cap, I just switch the news reader to use another email acount and I am good for another 5GB.
