Topic Name Editable?

Recommended Posts

Why don't we make the Topic Title and Topic Description editable for normal members so if they ever make a mistake, they do not require a moderator or an administrator to correct it. I don't find any negative points to this, but rather make mods and admins easier since they don't have to worry about these small things.

Just a thought.

yeah, ive agreed with this for a while, would definitely make it easier.. and i was told it was going to be implemented in IPB 1.3, along with the ability to edit poll options.. but apparently wasnt.

well the first post isnt on a timer.. you can edit it whenever.. i dont see why the title shouldnt be the same way

because this could lead to abuse. people would start a topic with a certain title and when people dont like it he will change title. it would also be hard to keep track of stuff.

or maybe take a extra few seconds to make sure the title is correct in the first place? :innocent:

Oh god....I can see the moronic activities already.

Make a thread called "Who here wants a gmail account?".

Wait for all the posts in it, then change it to "Who likes anal sex while sleeping?" :pinch:

maybe the report function could be hacked so that if the thread starter clicks on the report button for there first post they have customised options

such as "change the topic to" "close this thread please"

and they then give the new topic/reason to close it

i really dont think it worth it for something as small as a topic title.

I get soo frustarated with people on msn messenger who press enter and dont check their incomprehensible words ( i dont mean slang, i mean typos).

Like i say to them, i say to you, take 1 quarter of a second to check your title before clicking submit :)

Then what are you doing with OUR edit ability?

That's great and all, but you're not the one that has to read before posting, because you can edit ;)
