iChat Scrolling warning

Recommended Posts

I use iChat everyday for hours and SO frequently it happens that i'm talking to a couple friends and i'm just typing away, and then iChat pops a nice little error message up asking toplease wait a little before sending more becuase i've sent too much text too quickly. They made this to prevent people from scrolling i presume but the limit of text per amount of time is way off...Who agrees? i'd say i have to wait 20 seconds or hoewver long they make you wait about once every 5 or 10 minutes. I HATE IT. Us mac loving neowin users need to do something about this. Apple needs to change this bull****. Come on guys, you know it happens way too often.

I use Adium, but I don't know what any of you are talking about anyway. :p When I used iChat, I never saw that problem. Probably because I don't spam my friends out with one word on each line, but that's a different story.

assuming i am thinking of the same thing you are talking about: apple has no control over this 'feature'. it's part of the aim protocol... you can send so many messages in a certain amount of time, or the server says "stfu". it's annoying, but i can see it's purpose.

I've had this, and I've barely been talking to anybody. Its quite frustrating, and appears to be random. On occasions its NOT allowed me to carry on at all, and after a minute or two, i've had to restart iChat to allow me to continue talking. There definitely *IS* something up. I never had ANY problems, previous to installing iChat AV final.
