Axel
We have them with safari. read the quote We understand that Apple's Safari has a Google search box enabled, however the Toolbar offers more than a simple search. The Google Toolbar also allows for the following: Search The Web Search This Site Search for Images Search Newsgroups Search Directory Search News PageRank Vote For Site Cached Snapshot of Page Find Similar Pages Backward Links Highlighting Search Terms I'm Feeling Lucky Translate Search Regions Google Answers
Crowmac
Thanks for poiting them out to everyone i should have done it myself but thought people would have read it. I feel this would be brilliant for mac users like myself, as they have google for windows and linux so whats wrong with us :)
Tim Dorr Veteran Posted May 8, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 8, 2004 Safari doesn't even have this capability. Even if they did decide to do it, there's no capacity to add it. They would have to customize Safari itself just to add the features. People need to do some damn research before coming up with dumb ideas like this... Chad
How hard is it to just go to google.com through your web browser? Not to burst your bubble, but petitions, especially online petitions, are quite fruitless.
markwolfe Veteran Posted May 8, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 8, 2004 Not to burst your bubble, but petitions, especially online petitions, are quite fruitless. Tell me! I signed the "Hey SCO, Sue Me!" news reference here petition at petitionsonline when it came out over a year ago, and no lawyer has contacted me to sue me for using Linux yet!

SFNE Freak
I don't think it would be that hard for Apple to replace the magnifying glass' recent search functionality with all those options, similar to what the magnifying glass does in Finder.
mswarts
Why taint Apple with another toolbar. Even the Google toolbar is evil.
macman87
on the pc i use the toolbar for the blockup ads and the search, both of which can be found in safari anyways.
Endoscient
If you really want it that bad, use Firefox, and Google Toolabr extension.
the evn show
At the very least do a paper mail campaign. Nobody gives a damn about online petitions: A 5 line shell script will generate as many false signatures as you want for whatever cause you want - companies know that and pay them appropriate attention. Write a letter, print it off, sign it, and send it to them. 1 letter has 100x more impact than a signature on an online petition in all things: politics, when you're in **** with your girlfriend, complaining about service, or pushing for consideration from a company. oik
i like the way safari's searchbar works... even if google did release a toolbar for the mac, i wouldn't use it (even though i live by it on windows).
