Ordered a new PowerBook, anyone want my iBook?

Recommended Posts

Just placed an order for a 15" 1.33 PB with a 5400RPM HDD and backlit keyboard. Anyone have any clue what shipping times are on BTO machines nowadays?

In any case, to add some value to this thread, I'm going to eventually be selling my iBook once I get everything off of it and onto the PowerBook. It's a G3 900 with 640MB of RAM, Airport, Bluetooth and a fresh keyboard (after I broke the last one). It's still under warranty, and I can get you a student discount on AppleCare if you want to add that on. I'm hoping $750 is the magic number for it, and I can add on AppleCare for $150 if it's wanted. I'm just seeing if someone wants to call it in advance ;)

It's working just fine for me and if there are any issues, it's covered under warranty still. I actually broke the keyboard on it and called up Apple about it. They got it to me in 16 hours overnight! I called at 6PM, had a new keyboard in my hands at 10AM the next day :|

I bought it last year in October, so it's less than a year old. It was right before the G4 iBook was released.

Sell it on NeoBay . . . Thats what its there for :)

Oh, I will. I just don't want to put it up there with probably over 2 weeks until I can sell it. This is just a sort of pre-sale/testing-the-waters

@musicmaster: It's got a Radeon Mobility 7500 with 32MB of VRAM. You can read the gory details here: http://manuals.info.apple.com/Apple_Suppor.../L27500A_EN.pdf

The RAM got here already, but the PB is still on a FedEx truck somewhere nearby. Hopefully it gets here soon :D

Hmm... Good point! Suppose I should have thought of that one, but I'm so use to DMO being the only Mac forum on the board for discussion :D

That's awesome, you finally got your 15" PowerBook.

The Backlit Keyboard was a good buy. I like to set the keyboard brightness to almost the same as the light reflected from the screen and the keys pretty much disappear. :D

Congrats on your purchase timdorr :D

I opted for the 12 inch and i have to say, its the hottest little thing on the block (next to my girlfriend of course :p) I ALMOST went for the 15 inch but I decided I wanted tiny instead of the extra features...maybe next time I'll get a 15inch, once they put dual-core G5s in them

did I just notice a troll in here? :p

anyways Tim when you looking to sell that ibook? I'm still seeing if I can afford a 12" Pbook if not I might choose your fully loaded Ibook :p

So? Anything wrong with that? Microsoft makes good mice.

Well.. got nothing against Microsoft or Apple. But it's just.. like.. they're opponents, enemies, and that Apple would rather see Tim buying a MacMouse?

Or is it just me thinking that way?:happy:y:

as we all know, 2 button mouses are easier than 1 :p

It doesn't matter, the MacMouse? is better! (Lesson 1: Believe anything ad's say!)

(Sorry, it's 2 am here, and I should have thought about getting to sleep a long time ago)
