Ivan Kot
hey i had server load: 35.93 and it showed me 'too busy' message... I think admins should just increase 'too busy' level in the Admin CP and that's all folks!
Oblivion
i just got a server busy message thrice in the last 20 minutes.
Redmak Administrators Posted May 19, 2004 Administrators Share Posted May 19, 2004 I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe it's autopatcher, maybe not. The number of http processes is way too high atm causing a high load (maybe many people are downloading with downloadmanagers). Maybe we're under attack
Oblivion
didnt neowin already upgraded it's servers & bandwidth to provide better response then before? i think the load is getting beyond control whenever some heavy application is uploaded, we cant be under attack...it's almost midnight at my place ;)
Redmak Administrators Posted May 19, 2004 Administrators Share Posted May 19, 2004 I disabled the downloads. The number of processes drops

Storm
An idea, when on the forum, you get a message saying the server load is too high. But it loads with all the images, why not make it like the main page? So no images load

Tim Dorr Veteran Posted May 22, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 22, 2004 Redmak, have you enabled the /server-status page with ExtendedStatus On in the httpd.conf? You can see what people are downloading at the current time with that. For example: http://alpha.asmallorange.com/server-status
jkinzer
Neowin has been getting pretty slow lately. Sometimes pages take 30 seconds to load. I am on a University connection... they should take less than a second to load. :(
