PseudoRandomDragon
Basically I am a PC user and have been...always. I just got a Power Mac from a friend. It has a video card for which I can hook up to my video camera, that is the only use for it really. The problem is I don't know how I can hook up my monitor, mouse or keyboard to it. I suppose I would need special adapters. If I got an adapter to hook up my monitor (assuming one exists), would it work?
blik
Yeah you need adapters...
Southern Patriot
There are adapters to hook up a standard VGA style monitor to the Mac video port, they run about $15-20 the last time I looked (years ago). As for the mouse and keyboard, you will probably have to get ADB ones, I don't believe there are any adapters around for that.

danbalsh
Yeah you should be able to pick up an ADB keyboard & mouse off ebay quite cheaply :)
Pilsbury
A Belkin Mac KVM adaptor will let you use a P/S2 keyboard and mouse, as well as a VGA monitor. These can be picked up on eBay for about $10 with all the cables.
VGVL
I have a PowerMac 8600/300. I wonder what I can do with it, if anything. Maybe install Linux on it or some version of OSX Server. OS8 is pretty much useless. OSX Server can't run on this PowerMac, right?
Solarix
@Huezo unfortunatly no it cant

With a G3 / G4 upgrade, you can run 10.2.x and 10.3.x. http://eshop.macsales.com/OSXCenter/XPostFacto/ YellowDogLinux is also another viable option - http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/
