SOOPAH256
lol that's pretty cool. although it just reminds most people that there's not enough games for Macs. :p don't worry, i love apple, although i still use windows.
misecia
So what if there aren't many games on the Mac, they are a superb machine to use and look at. Much better than hiding it under the desk and then kicking it every 5 minutes when it crashes.

djgramma
LOL I think that's what alot of consultants and lawyers would do to me if I start that with them. :shifty: I'd love to see a hardcore mac addict try that on me. Cheers

xplatinum
So what if there aren't many games on the Mac, they are a superb machine to use and look at. Much better than hiding it under the desk and then kicking it every 5 minutes when it crashes. That describes you pretty well if you ask me. But many users (myself included) tend to remember a program when we last ran it and forget that programs do improve over time. Afterall, look at the Linux users who still contend that Windows crashes "10 times a day" simply because the last version of Windows they ran did in fact perform problematically for them. My XP setup hasn't crashed once in the past few months. Stop making false allegations just to boost your mac-ego. it makes me wonder what the new excuse for hating the mac will be when vpc7 with dx9 and gpu support comes out. Even when that support will come... MAC will still be miles behind in terms of number of games. :.. I always wanted to try using a MAC but unfortunately I don't have the money for it. And even if I would, there's just nothing worth spending a couple more hundred bucks on. Apart from it look and uniqueness, is it really worth the money when you could do everything a MAC does and plenty more with a PC. If i'd get a mac it would probably be a laptop... to smack you back  Edited May 14, 2004 by xplatinum
oik
xplatinum: are you a complete idiot, or do you realize that you just contradicted yourself? "Even when that support will come... MAC will still be miles behind in terms of number of games" if a mac with vpc7 can run any game a pc can, then how are they still behind? also, please stop helping yourself look like a dumbass and stop writing "MAC". MAC is a bank card, Mac is a computer. same way mB is megabyte and mb is megabit. fyi: i own a pc, and run winxp on it. it still crashes. not every 5 hours, but i remember my last bsod... i was running shareaza, the nic got choked up under the HUGE number of connections shareaza was trying to open, and then windows started freezing until it finally bsod'ed. A mac user calling a PC user an idiot... didn't see that one coming  That kind of reply was more than expected. MAC users are so defensive. I was just pointing out that its not the case anymore, that new windows OS crash every 2minutes. Second, I wasn't aware of what VPC7 was, so get off my case like I was suppose to know. I'll write MaC any damn way I want, live with it. Why is it such a big deal anyway... hurting your mAC ego again ? And finally, who said that your BSOD wasn't your own fault ? I run more games and applications that you can possibly think of and I get a bsod very, very rarely -- if ever. Encode an svcd while browsing, burning a cd, [name it] and it still runs great. Phemo
if a mac with vpc7 can run any game a pc can, then how are they still behind? You're joking aren't you? I just did a quick search on the web, and admittedly it's not about VPC7, but every Mac user appears to be bitching about how slow VPC is. Fact of the matter is that emulating any machine unless it's several years old, is very slow. Even running VPC on a PC and trying to run a DOS game inside that is a complete joke. Oh yeah, maybe I should add that I do use Macs and I do enjoy using them, so I'm not biased, but I've never had a problem with my PC. It's currently been up for 3 weeks and had a fair amount of use, I genuinely can't remember the last time I had a BSOD, but even then, it was down to overclocking. So yes, I enjoy using Macs, but I guarantee I wouldn't enjoy using VPC on a Mac.

Elliott
I once whacked a guy with my 15" PowerBook because he was just being a complete idiotic ass. It didn't have a scratch or dent either, and the guy had a really bad headache after that. :p
Xylene
MAC users are so defensive. Yes they are. I told my graphic design teacher that the iMacs we use in class are overpriced paperweights and he had a fit and started rambling on and on about how Macs are god's gift to computing. He is insane. the evn show
I want to smack people now and then, sometimes I'd even concider using my powerbook (though I much prefer to use it as a tray to shuttle about donuts, pizza, and whatever the hell I'm eating). Truth is: I don't really care what Randy Q. Ignornant thinks about my choice in computing platform. It does exactly what I ask of it, nothing I don't, and that lets me work, play, and goof off on my own terms. I also tend not to hang around the kind of people who will look at my computer, clothing, car, or where my house is and say "Oh, you're just like <x>! hahahaha!" because that sort of personality strikes me as the same type that would look at the color of my skin or my last name and make a judgment about my character. Those are not the kind of people I'm interested in being around.
oik
phemo: i'll give you a hint: vpc6 could not use the g5. vpc7 can. and it (supposedly) can use both cpu's (if your mac has it). it can also now USE the gpu, instead of having to emulate it. will vpc7 still be slow? compared to the "new hotness" p4 3.6ghz or whatever, yes. compared to vpc6? hell no. don't go out and do your magic search to come back and tell me old news. xplatinum: as long as you're happy. ignorance is bliss i suppose. just because you have never gotten a bsod doesn't mean every user on the planet has never had one. just because i've never had a kernel panic doesn't mean someone else hasn't. "Second, I wasn't aware of what VPC7 was, so get off my case like I was suppose to know" if you're gonna talk about it, you should at least know. new idea for you? or do you always run your mouth about stuff you don't know? write mac however you want, it can be underlined, bolded, italicized, or whatever gets you off. you're still just another moron to me. frod
reminds me of the time i dropped my powerbook about 3 feet onto the asphalt. besides me practically ****ting my pants the only thing that happened was a slight paint chip, heh. and about the person saying something about us being defensive, we're not the ones that came into your forums and responded to a post trying to prove that our computers are better than yours. I'm not saying you're wrong - I never claimed to know all the facts anyway, but you clearly do. However, I'll believe it when I see it :) If that is the case and it actually works well, then so be it, I'll be glad, it'll be great. I must also say that this is the first time I've come across any Mac users that are actually believing Microsoft's claims. I hope it's the case though, I really do.
