Liquid
To prevent buyers from getting ripped off please post a picture of the object being sold with some sort of note on it saying Neowin Auction on it. This is not neccesary but would be greatly appriciated by the Neowin staff. Pics will be review and decided if fake or not. Steven P. Administrators Posted May 16, 2004 Administrators Share Posted May 16, 2004 this doesnt need to be rule, a buyer could simply request some form of proof before going ahead with any transaction.

Sleeper Veteran Posted May 16, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 16, 2004 plus there is always the fact that not everyone has the hardware to take a picture of what they are selling, I know for a fact when I sell on ebay I just google for what ever im selling and use the images i find. .KICK
It would be nice if people could post a picture, would interest more people and show the quality of the product
Wannes
people do posts pictures but sometimes you get ripped off, this is why Liquid wants a picture including a board that says "For Neowin" or something like that. the picture should be on a location where it's almost impossible to Photoshop in. matt74441
I'm all in favour of that idea, but as it was mentioned by Sleeper, not everyone has the means to take a picture of the item they are selling. I don't even have the means to take pictures, its my sister's camera that I've been using.

longwilli
lol nice picture. I know images help, but that still does not garentee that the auction is not a fake. There is no real way to know until you get your fingers burned.

maplecookie Veteran Posted May 16, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 16, 2004 Not everyone has access to digital cams, or even webcams. It shouldn't be required to be able to post a pic to sell something.

matt74441
Ok it could be optional but would be alot better. Anyone that does it gets this :D I don't really know what the purpose of that is. Like I've been saying, we all know that you were ripped off. Actually you weren't ripped off, you didn't lose a penny over the incident. So I suggest you get over it, because its not like you're the first Internet auction victim. Besides, what makes your certificate more authentic than mine? John Veteran Posted May 16, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 16, 2004 this doesnt need to be rule, a buyer could simply request some form of proof before going ahead with any transaction. (Y) I've never been scammed on eBay/Amazon, you just have to know what to watch out for. If you think something's not right, don't buy it.
Sleeper Veteran Posted May 16, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 16, 2004 the forums over at overclockers.co.uk have got a hack built into VB that is like a trust system, just a little bit like ebay. if you deal with someone you can leave feed back on there trust section
