i used to read tech news on shortnews.com, but they always cut down the story. neowin was often listed as the storys source, eventually i stopped looking at shortnews and just went striaght to neowin, i read lots, after a while there was a story where i thought my comments would be useful, i joined, and have been reading mostly.

I was either reading the theinquirer.net or theregister.net and found neowin.net :). I think the story was about how neowin.net was shut down by Microsoft for having an "illegal download" available (SDK or something).

:o

Naughty naughty Neowin

I signed up back in November 2001 and I found out about this site from www.iexbeta.com, but their forums seemed to kind of die or something and I was visiting Neowin more and it was a small community that was full of help and news and now it's grown so large.

LONG LIVE NEOWIN.

I even made a shirt with the Neowin logo and I walk around Phoenix, AZ waiting for people to give me a shout-out and represent... :p

I heard about Neowin from reading the news. I like tech news sites. Then I kept reading cool headlines about topics in the forum when they show them on the main page and thought I'd give it a try. When it works, it is wicked fast too, and I like that. I'm using the "Invision Power Board" theme/page. It has a nice simple layout and good color schemes. I guess part of the draw is that they have been around a while and most folks say they don't over-moderate, plus they have a lot of topic areas. Lastly, I like all the smiles you can use.

Kept getting re-directed for news to Neowin from Bink's site. Figured I would join up here since I got hooked on reading the forums.

Haven't left since. Go Neowin (Y)

I heard about it through a lockergnome newsletter. I went to this website and checked it on a daily basis for a month or 2 before I signed up. Been an addict ever since.
