Subscribers and member groups

Recommended Posts

I don't like that e-mail subscribers have "@ Subscriber" on their member group (instead of "Registered"). Whether they subscribed to NW.net e-mail is their own business.

Why not make it so that e-mail subscribers have the same member title as every other non-mod non-supermod non-admin non-newsposter non-so-on users do?

OK, I was trying to come up with some reason to say it. :p LOL, I removed that part.

But anyway, I still think it is someone's own business whether they have NW.net e-mail. I noticed in the online members list on the main forum page there are little golden plusses next to people's nicknames, too.

It is their own business, but are you annoyed because they have "@ Subscriber" and a "+" with their name on the forum index as opposed to being "Registered"? Pretty lame I think.

It's the status to show that Neowin staff appreciate them because they support Neowin financially & that they get a personal part of Neowin for themselves.

It should be the least of your worries and I don't hear anyone else complaining about it.

Radish?

AND we get access to a "Special Secret" Forum inside of neowin. :ninja: I don't mind the @ Subscriber at all. I think it is nice.

I smell... Jealousy! :)

the spiny logo is to big. why not give them the contributer tag that flishfun had before. in my opinion i dont mind the + and the member title but a badge would be a little too much.

threadstarter, these members get some appreciation back from the neowin team for the support to give. the money made from this is not for the admins for personal use but its used to build neowin even nicer. make it run faster and all that stuff. ;) (also for their secret staff orgy place but that dont like to mention that. :p)

just accept it and deal with it, it isn't that disturbing anyways is it? i read the post, not the mini profile.

Instead of "@ Subscriber" just call it "Premium Member".

I believe they are going to also have a "subscription" seperate to neowin, so that may get confusing.

if it shows that we are "@ subscriber" then that means we are already registered...i LIKE it!!!! :D

i think @ subscriber is enough, if it was anything else or more, then it would seem like neowin was trying to advertise about it,
