That feature in Internet Explorer only works when you're only viewing an image, it won't work when the image loads in a page like .html. Besides, only very few people use Internet Explorer here (I'm assuming) and don't think most would even switch to IE just to view one website.

I was responding to the member infront of me who replied with:

I think Internet Explorer has a feature called "Reize images if too big to fit on screen". Use that. a toolbar will come up, click one button to make bigger.

14% of Neowin uses Mozilla

2% use Opera and other stuff

The remaining 80+% use Microsoft Internet Explorer. Hardly a few people.

I can see, however, based on the number of FireFox polls, threads, thread hijacks and overall religous devotion that you might expect that the numbers were reversed.

True. And it's due to all that, that I hate Firebox to death.

hey, that's really cool, altough you said that it wouldn't make browsing faster I experienced faster loading, especially in the desktop thread...

I think I'll use 800x600 just to save energy :D

So Internet Explorer has another thumbnail feature? How come I never knew this? :(

Click on one of Dazzla's picture, and then make your browser window small. You should see the "Thumbnail" feature of IE.

I like this new change. Even though I run at 1600 x 1200 here at home, my web browser is hardly NEVER maximized.

If people resize like they're meant to, then scrolling isn't really an issue. Well, not if you're on a nice enough resolution.

Is there a rule about how big your image posts are supposed to be? Thanks.

Thumbnails enabled @ 640x480 :D

Does this automatic resizing only work on attached images or does it work on images hosted off site, like on the personal web space that people get with their ISPs and host with the IMG tag? Thanks.

max = 1024*768 for attached posts and thumbnail is only for attached posts.

So as long as I keep all my images under 1024x768, I am ok? Can you post to the rule link so I can read the details and understand them? I would appreciate it.

File Attachments = Attached images, right? Those are stored perm on the Neowin server and I don't have to worry about storing them somewhere myself? Thumbnails are only made for file attachments on the Neowin server and anything above 640x480 gets thumbnailed, right?

IMG tags point to images that I put on my own server, like the ISP gives me (like qwest.net/user/image.jpg)?

BOTH the attached and img tag images have to be 1024x768 or lower? Or is that only the attachments loaded on the neowin server?

Thanks. I'm trying to figure it all out. :)
