I think its permanent. I also think this belongs in the Site and Forum Issues forum.

this is probably a rather noobish question or whatever, but what happens when/if the level gets to 100%? ban?

i think the answer is pretty obvious..

might not warrant a ban, but the mods will be all over your ass! ;)

Just behave. Don't worry too much about your warning level. If the Admin's want you to disappear they'll make you disappear.

Haha, I remember when a certain member who shall not be named ****ed off a whole lot of neowinians and we ended up finding out where he lived and...

...well, he no longer bothers us...

*Edit: Why does **** get blocked, but bitch/######/**** doesn't?

*Edit2: Guess **** does...

,May 21 2004, 03:58] it increases by 10% and at a 100% the forum normally automatticaly bans you. :)

Not at all. The levels go up by 20% per warn, and at 100%, decisions are made by the staff.

You meant their warning level, right?? Unless of course, the mods were working at Area51. :shifty:

you still can be banned before reaching the 100% warning level.

question: does neowin ban by IP address or nick?

i think they ban your nickname, its harder to ban by ip and allot of work

not really. just open the admin console and put in the IP address in the ban field and its done. if the user is using DHCP, then it might be harder, but if its static, then its not hard at all.

Now THAT is very, very, very good to know.

On average, I manage to make an idiotic mistake once or twice every year...and if every idiotic mistake cost me one of five warnings, I was frightened I'd get baned from here within 2/3 years.

Now that I know it isn't automated....phhew!

You could always ask nicely to the moderator who warned you.....

:D :ninja:

(btw, before you ask me, the answer is no :p )
