Fedorpheux
this is probably a rather noobish question or whatever, but what happens when/if the level gets to 100%? ban?
Brandon
yeah, that was my 2nd question
BxBoy
this is probably a rather noobish question or whatever, but what happens when/if the level gets to 100%? ban? i think the answer is pretty obvious.. might not warrant a ban, but the mods will be all over your ass! ;)
zhangm Supervisor Posted May 21, 2004 Supervisor Share Posted May 21, 2004 Depends on what you did to get to 100%. I think the mods just use it to track how often you break rules.

Steven
Just behave. Don't worry too much about your warning level. If the Admin's want you to disappear they'll make you disappear.
zhangm Supervisor Posted May 21, 2004 Supervisor Share Posted May 21, 2004 Haha, I remember when a certain member who shall not be named ****ed off a whole lot of neowinians and we ended up finding out where he lived and... ...well, he no longer bothers us... *Edit: Why does **** get blocked, but bitch/######/**** doesn't? *Edit2: Guess **** does...

bonobozoot
If the Admin's want you to disappear they'll make you disappear. You meant their warning level, right?? Unless of course, the mods were working at Area51. :shifty:
Steffan
you still can be banned before reaching the 100% warning level. question: does neowin ban by IP address or nick?

giga Veteran Posted May 21, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 21, 2004 It can be done by either your nick or IP. (the Ip ban is in the admin controls)
Banzai
i think they ban your nickname, its harder to ban by ip and allot of work
Steffan
i think they ban your nickname, its harder to ban by ip and allot of work not really. just open the admin console and put in the IP address in the ban field and its done. if the user is using DHCP, then it might be harder, but if its static, then its not hard at all. Wannes
Not at all. The levels go up by 20% per warn, and at 100%, decisions are made by the staff. thanks for that bangbang, i was thinking about the default settings again. d'oh. :pinch:
Chode
Not at all. The levels go up by 20% per warn, and at 100%, decisions are made by the staff. Now THAT is very, very, very good to know. On average, I manage to make an idiotic mistake once or twice every year...and if every idiotic mistake cost me one of five warnings, I was frightened I'd get baned from here within 2/3 years. Now that I know it isn't automated....phhew!
configure Veteran Posted May 22, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 22, 2004 Now that I know it isn't automated....phhew! Yeah but you see, it doesn't have to always go up to 100% :p
