Steffan
I'm using firefox and sometimes when I press the back button, I get an error message saying that index.php could not be found. I have to take off everything after index.php before it returns back to the main page of the forums edit: I used the silver theme (I dont know if they matters or not) for example:
Joel
I have also seen that. I suspect it's part of the coding optimisation that is going on, but I hope not.

Frank
Unfortunatly it is not a bug with FF. Sometimes in IE when I click on a page or click the back button I get a "404" error. If I hit the refresh button, it loads fine. I think it is either a problem with coding with the site, or with the server.
Banzai
I have the same prob its a right pain i thought it had stopped as well.

bctrainers
why i think you guys are getting these errors is because the HTML Cacheing has been enabled, making it so that if you try to go back it won't load right and will give you an error.

Frank
Hasnt happened here, using IE<ff like troll> Get IE, Get it now</ff like troll> Unfortunatly, I would have like to have made the same response, BUT since I am having the same issue and I USE IE, this response doesn't work. :( Thats why I said in my post "Unfortunatly it isnt JUST a FF problem", because I would have made the same comment :)

Glowstick
You know, if that's a cross-browser problem, means effectively server-side, maybe you guys should try considering that someone is making live changes to that file that's going missing randomly? EmuZombie Veteran Posted June 4, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 4, 2004 I get this error on more then just Neowin. It could be anywhere, at random. So... the entire internet is screwed up?.....

Glowstick
I get this error on more then just Neowin. It could be anywhere, at random. So... the entire internet is screwed up?..... Considering the plethora of routing problems that keep showing up all around the internet and prevent me from accessing sites randomly seemingly at will, well, yeah. Then again, I'm using FF nightlies and I don't have that missing file issue. But when the server says 404, then it ain't the browser.
matt74441
I get this error on more then just Neowin. It could be anywhere, at random. So... the entire internet is screwed up?..... Same with me. My ISP has been flaking out on me lately and I'm having a hard time getting any site to load up properly.
EmuZombie Veteran Posted June 5, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 5, 2004 I have proof it has nothing to do with the server or internet or networking at all. When this happens, disable the network adapter you use to connect to the internet. (or even physically disconnect the internet). Then try it. The same error messege pops up with 0 delay. Thus proving Firefox is not even attempting to contact the site at all. Another way is to "show network connection in system tray" and watch the lights. It doesn't even light up at all.
