Aaron Veteran Posted May 26, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 26, 2004 Maybe I am doing something wrong, maybe I have no busisness playing around with Linux, maybe.... But, when I click on a RPM. shouldn't my system *know* waht to do with it? I keep getting an error that no application is associated with that filetype. I am guessing something is wrong here, what is happening?

slapnuts_ox
system-config-packages is the program that has rights to rpm files. if you want to install it do 'rpm -ivh packagename.rpm' and to upgrade its 'rpm-Uvh packagename.rpm' and you can do both of those in a command prompt. i encourage to keep trying out linux and not be discouraged. im sure that if you keep playing around you'll grow to love it.
