Has anyone had any problems with the above?

After using mIRC and closing it, my PC becomes painfully slow, if I ctrl-alt-del and end the task, everything is OK.

I'm also using the Dell OEM version of XP if it help?

I havn't had any problems with mIRC in XP...yet.

However, if you are getting too ****ed off with it, you could try Trillian.

Trillian is ICQ, AIM, MSN, IRC and Yahoo! in one and it only uses about 8MB of RAM max.

That sounds well dodgy!

I take it the process you have to end is mirc32.exe

How much memory is it using after you've closed the mirc window?

You havent registered it as a service have u? God knows wat effects that *could* have.

It runs fine for me, i've never, ever had a problem with mirc of any version, under any MS OS.
