why not just upgrade to 600K?

For an extra ?7 a month its well worth it and fast enough to get whatever you want

Is the speedup for all ISP's? Cos i've not been informed about any speedup?

No. BT haven't cottened onto it yet.

Telewest have already done the upgrades.

NTL's are due in August.

@Prem Just Ntl and Telewest from all reports

@Rancor - if ya are already connected through a set top box ya are actually getting 250k due to the overheads the set top box use's, if not then ya only get the 150k to the upgrade :)

Well from the way you type, I doubt you work for BT ;). So why don't you shut up. Something new may come or may not.

what other places? we only have BT-run ADSL, ntl or Telewest to choose from! BT-run ADSL completely blows, I've had ntl for a while now and its SO much better, none of this random disconnection or line errors bollox, and no crappy alcatel stingray-POS ADSL modem either

sorry rant over

I have BT ADSL - its great! Ok, so I replaced the Alcatel modem with a proper router, but I get constant 60k download speeds and it has only disconnected TWICE in the whole 3/4 years that I have had it.

Yay... my 1mbit will be going to 1.5mbit then :D

To be honest, whilst the lack of speed and high prices compared to other countries sucks, I really think domestic broadband users should have sensible caps on the connections anyway.

The costs of getting a fast connection have dropped.. but the costs of providing for people on fast connections has not really.. bandwith still costs a lot of money!
