IanD
I saw this and was surprised... I have a corporate firewall running, and looked in Quarentine and saw W32.Netsky.P@mm Symantec Email Proxy deleted the following email message:From: voodoo@neowin.net To: smk [at]skatemanknight.com Subject: Re: thanks! the messege header was spoofed to ghost itself so there is none.. Anyone else got this? -Ian
OPaul
Can you post the complete headers?
MxxCon
netsky spoofs "from" headers so it's definatly not from voodoo.
Japlabot
I keep getting emails pretending to be from Neowin and Neowin Members, but it's always from d66-183-72-219.bchsia.telus.net... If only I knew who that was.
bangbang023 Veteran Posted June 1, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 1, 2004 Maybe you should report them to telus.

Frank
I believe netsky looks at the users address book, and uses names from there. I am sure that voodoo did not send it, just a case of voodoo being in someones address book that was infected.

Frank
Some people just need to be shot. Read Here: http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyc...e=WORM_NETSKY.P If your too Lazy to read there, here is a quote from the page on the WORM_NETSKY.P Virus The email that it sends out has varying subjects, message bodies, and attachment file names. It gathers email addresses from files with certain extension names. So in other words (like I said before) These viruses ARE NOT coming from voodoo. OR neowin. They are probably coming from someone who visits neowin who had voodoo's email address somewhere on their machine from a file in the list above. :argh:

A.K.R.
Well, let me tell you something interesting: Ever since I went online with this machine I'm using now, the only viruses that mange to get into my system are all Netsky viruses. Hard to believe, but true. Once, one even got into my system. My anti-virus software detected it and threw it out of Windows immediately. :)
