No, It has enhanced support to deal with DVR-MS files from MCE PC's. WMP is not a TV Tuner or PVR.

I installed it but it was really unstable, and now it won't let me rollback to version 9 - ah well I use foobar2000 and mpc anyway

Thus far its pretty ****ty...its ugly and I've had a few little problems here and there...media library still gets all out of order and some buttons appear in places they shouldnt be (and work too which is wierd)

It's not ugly, you can change colors, etc. And, I think it's certainly better than WMP9!

Becuase they don't OWN it! Sounds like a good one to me. If you can rip Cd's in WMp you already have a pirated encoder installed or you have purchased and install the true rip pack at some point. It's not there from this beta install, it can't be.

And Apple does OWN it? With iTunes you CAN rip songs in MP3 FORMAT.

I don't know who's encoder Apple is using. There is nothing stoping the LAME guys from working on LameACM with WMP. AFAIK Apple could be using lame.

had a few problems getting it to install in XP 64-Bit Edition, but its running smooth now, all i need to do is fix it playing dvds :)

It gives me some error saying that is performed some kind of error or cannot playback w/e (I forget the error) , i just rolled it back to wmp9. Oh well
