Why should Bill Gates give you US$500K?

Recommended Posts

I want to buy my Fiance the biggest diamond ring in town.

I want a new car, instead of the bomb I drive.

And I want a G5 with the works.

Now back to you. Why should you have the US$500K? :shifty:

i'd buy-out the neowin.net domain name and use it to start my own business selling double-glazing neon windows.

and then with the remaning $499,999.99999998 i'd buy a small african child to sit and type for me/play my Everquest character whilst i watch TV and get on with other stuff.

You have just said why you want the money, not why you should have it. There's a difference.

Why should I have $500,000? The answer: I shouldn't. I don't want to be one of those idiotic, arrogant rich kids who has never had to work. I want to work hard to earn my $500,000. So please, Bill Gates, if you are reading this (which you most likely aren't), and you were considering giving me the money, please don't! Give it to the Longhorn development division of Microsoft so you can speed up the development a bit. Several thousand for a new computer would be nice, though...

Bill Gates should not give me $500k. If he did, SO many people would be hostile/jealous of me. I would not like the attention and it really isnt worth $500K.

Maybe if you asked the question a little smarter by leaving out the Bill Gates part...

now if he gave me 10 bucks for every time windows crashed (i.e bsod) he would owe me WAY more than 500k

but since im a nice guy ill settle for that :D

Windows has crashed on you "way more" than 50,000 times? Now I know that past versions have crashed a lot, but not THAT much. Also, YOU paid for his product. You decided to put up with it. "Caveat emptor," my friend.

He shouldn't give it to anyone, he earned it > you do the same.

I honestly don't get people who are obsessed with his wealth.

Radish?

I've problably seen 50,000 crashes on Windows systems... then again I work were there are over 300 servers... I'm not saying that all the crashes were MS related, mind you. We run a lot of vendor supplied crap too.

I think he should send me $500,000 because I have been forwarding (for several years!) those 'Microsoft tracking emails' I get that tell me I will receive money for each person I send a copy to.

And I send it to everyone on my address book! :D

Funny, but the list of friends who write me gest smaller and smaller every passing year...

And I haven't received a check yet.... Weird, huh?

Bravo, finally, someone else who supports the capitalist system. Go get your own wealth, people!

Excellent way to start a long-term relationship...by a superficial act of charity instead of something from the heart.
I want a new car, instead of the bomb I drive.

This I have less of a problem with, although I'd wager that car would be trashed within a short time, since you probably wouldn't appreciate it.

And I want a G5 with the works.

Again, I'm drawn back to your first statement; don't you have more important things to worry about if you have a -real- fiance?

I just hope that you don't plan on having children for a long, long time.

He's given away somewhere around 50% of his wealth.

Yes given! So what is the point your trying to make again?

This was just a lighthearted thread, or meant to be anyway.

Where do you get off with personal attacks? Go and find somewhere else to troll thanks.

What is the point YOU are trying to make? What does Bill Gates giving away some of his money have to do with the fact that people should make their own? Bill Gates is heavily pressured to make contributions, and maybe he feels that it is the right thing to do as well, and so he does so. People should make their own money, though, regardless of how much other people give away.

He's also one of the people that donates the most money in the world to charities and dissabled people funds and the lot. which in my book, is a good guy.

Indeed (Y)

All this greed in the world, all based on Bill Gates' wealth.

Radish?

But if he did, what might you do with it? Start another Cold War, perhaps? ;)
