I Need A Job!

Recommended Posts

Right, i'm 19. Been working in my parents business (Heraldy & Coats of Arms Manufacturers) I'm pretty good with PC's, took mine to bits plenty of times, and can format, install, troubleshoot etc etc.

I only have GCSE results and they are nothing special D's - F's :|.

I WANT a job in IT. Preferable like Hardware/Software, like the dude you call and say my pc has crashe etc, bulding and Support.

Where shoul i start? I dont want to be stuck college doing a NVQ, i want hands on... Please Advise, i'm in the UK.

my advise is apply for everything you know you are capable of, and be enthusiastic, dont be put off by "a degree is desirable" or other notes like that on the job advertisments, just apply, be enthusiastic in your cv / application letter and in any interviews you have.

the company i work for have soem vacancies http://www.zen.co.uk/jobs

I've always wondered the difference between a resume and a curriculum vitae (cv)

cv: A resume of a student's education, employment, publications, and other activities. This term is usually used in connection with graduate students and faculty, not undergraduate students.

It sounds like he will be writing up a resume and not a cv.

Are there any government jobs available? I know here in the states it is fairly easy to get a technician related job for state government.
