Post count locked threads

Recommended Posts

Well it's up to mods to do their job. I kinda agree with mods that x000 celebration threads are here to stay and to show what Neowinians have contributed to the board. As long as mods are happy with their job keeping Neowin as it is, I am happy with that too. This is Neowin, this is where you can expect any kinds of threads...you'll have to live with it and let mods do their job.

What happened to mods post count locking the x000 posts threads?

I'm raking in the posts from replying to them :p

Thanks for spoiling it for everyone else  I told moderators to leave them alone because the x000 posts reflect a members contribution to neowin so locking the x000th post is like saying we don't support the work put into the community.

We may have to reconsider now that members are actually using them to rake up post counts, shows a lack of integrity if you ask me.

it's good that the admins see it as a contribution and not a show off. :)

I agreed with your opinion :)

x000 threads are not for elevating post counts!

if they bother you, don't read them. why is that so hard? I can't stand half the stuff posted in RWI, so I don't read it unless I have to moderate.

Good point! I like the x000 threads. I don't see any harm in it.

Although I probably will NOT be doing one myself, because I don't like drawing attention to myself...

oh wait...

yes I do. Nevermind.

a x000 thread only add 1 post count, not like if you are helping som1 and post a lot trying to help him

Like I've said a million times before, some of us take pride in knowing that we have a post count that is as much as possible a representation of useful posts that show just how much we contribute to the community.

Sounds cool to me. One thing I wish didn't happen is people getting mad at others for posting more than they do. For some sites, I guess they just get sick of the whole argument and got rid of post counts, but it doesn't bother me about sites that do as long as they don't get yelled at for posting a lot or something. Every site is different.
