ozgeek
Looks like some kind of virus or spyware in effect. did you do the usual scans (Virus/spyware)? Because nothing comes after the option "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)" in my own Folder Options.
cork1958
I've ran Adaware, Spybot, A2, and Kaspersky AV. Nothing detected.
[jon]
Probably not spyware - more likely a folder view addon of some sort thats not in the English chararacter set.... Go to add/remove see what apps you may have affecting folder view - chances are, it patched a DLL, go Start, Run and type: sfc /scannow make sure you have the windows CD at the ready - that should return all your DLLs to their original values from CD.Be warned, if you ran AutoPatcher or any other software that modifies windows DLLs, they will be restored to their original values. Basically - perform this at your own risk...
Hum
 Most probably a Microsoft Windows Update, from some time ago. A service pack, or recommened update installed. What other programs have you installed ? A recent one may be reversed with Sytem Restore. If you find no viruses or spyware, don't worry -- be happy.
