SOOPAH256
i don't think there's really much you can do. unless it's one of those really expensive hardback books, you shouldn't get charged very much, if at all.
Colin-uk Veteran Posted June 5, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 5, 2004 put a few heavy books on top of it (things like big dictionarys, encyclopedias) that should flatten the pages... Well thats what i used to do anyway lol..

Digital-Dog
As a person who works in the restoration field .... buy the book / pay the price ironing ... you may burn the paper and there is no recovery from that the only other solution is to soak the book, c-clamp it between two boards and freeze it for about 6 months .... basically you freezer burn the book ( it draws out all the water ) own up and pay the price

ozgeek
I recommend that you be honest and take it back the normal way. Don't try to use any escape routes. That will make it only worst. Because they have you on record as a borrower of the book and will track you down for a replacement. I experienced that too. I borrowed a book (TITANIC) too often that it got wore and tored. When I was about to borrow it again, the librarian happly repaired it and gave it back to me to borrow again. :)
