Creatine / Whey isolate

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if it is safe to use these two together? If so....when should I take both of them, pre or post workout? Can I physically mix them together in the same glass, or what? Any advice? (i'm about to start working out again full time now that school is over, and I'm trying not to make the same mistakes I made last time, I wanna cut some fat and gain a little lean mass at the same time (if possible) any suggestions?

Take the creatine as soon as you can after your work out. The Protein should also be taken prior to your workout, but don't mix the two.

I would recommend using Cell Tech as youe creatine source.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

take the creatine BEFORE you work out, it will give you lots of power so you can push urself extra. drink lots of water with it though, it's very neccessary. take the protein AFTER you work out because it will help re-build the muscle tissue that you've teared during work out.

That's ridiculous, do you even know what creatine is and what its effects are on the muscles?

You take creatine 1 hour and a half before your workout, so the body has a chance to absorb it and get it to the muscles. It allows the muscles to be pushed harder than usual, so you get a more effective workout without feeling more tired. If you could get 3 sets at a benchpress, creatine will allow you to push yourself a bit more, to perhaps another set or so (just an example.)

Creatine is not just a supplement you can take anytime, life vitamins, rather it makes active changes in your body that can affect your workout, and as such, should be taken at the proper times. Taking it after a workout does nothing.

Also, remember to drink plenty of water, as creatine has the temporary effect of keeping water in the muscles, which explains why you look buff immediately after a creatine workout, and over the next day or 2, you'll decrease in muscle size. Don't be discouraged, with creatine you still got more of a workout than you would have without it... furthermore, it's about the only supplement that has any scientific basis for muscle gain, (except steroids of course, but those can affect the body in negative ways).

Don't forget to read the label on the creatine, it will tell you to do a 'loading' phase for a week or two so your body gets used to it. Because you are basicallly stopping your bodies natural production of creatine, which isn't the amount you seem to want, after that time you start taking more. And it does benefit to take it when you are not working out, because when you do that, you can help your creatine levels at full potential. That way you wouldn't have to take as much pre-workout.

Lets not forget about side effects. Initial use might include gas and upset stomach, stick with it, it will go away after a week or so. The liver and kidneys produce creatine, so if you have problems with either of these, don't put undo stress on the organs. Drink plenty of water like efishta said, multiply your weight by .66 and that is how many ounces of water you should drink a day. If you stop taking it after using for a while, you will start to feel weak about 2 weeks after stopping, this will probably last for 2-3 weeks.

Drink plenty of water, go over your .66 X Weight amount, and only drink water. Eat smart and workout smart, make sure you get as much done in your workout time as you can, dont cheat yourself. Good luck.
