DrMetallica
I got 2 Fs my senior semester in classes that I have no need for the credits. One is an elective, the other is a science class. These classes are not essential but my parents think my university will reject me solely because of the grade I recieved.
QuantumTrickery
There's a good possibility they will reject you based on those F's. Similar thing happened to a friend of mine. He was pretty much guaranteed admittance to a school, and they passed him over because of receiving an F in a course, although it wasn't required/needed for graduation. The university essentially pulled their invitation back. Universities don't typically want individuals that have a half assed attitude (not saying that is the case here) but that's the way they typically percieve it. Hope you didn't screw yourself, but sounds like you did.
Shibby
i hope this doesn't happen to me going to college, but my grades i think won't be good enough

rumbleph1$h
I wouldn't say that you can't get in..... there are exceptions for every requirement.... My advice: write a killer essay explaining the F's and hope for the best ;)
demorgoron
2 f's are 2 f's it doesnt matter if they are from a elective class. were those f's the sum of all the semesters of just one?
mojomonkee
to be honest, ASU is a crappy school and i wouldn't be surprised if they never said a thing to you about it. people go to that school to drink and get laid. it's a fact.
D-j-M
sorry Dr. but you have only yourself to blame. Dont be too judgemental, my parents split just before my exams :/ Hardly my fault but luckily i did alright for myself anyway.

FatCat
There's a reason why up until now Arizona was the #1 party school in the US.
Frank
It is one of the GREAT things about Arizona. I don't have too much experience with ASU and admissions, but I think it is a number of facotrs that get you accepted. Writing the essay isn't a bad idea though, it would show them that you are dedicated, and shed a little light on the issue. And xStainDx, Don't forget the women! I dunno if there are any from Arizona on here, but we can't forget them!
nanackle
I would reject you from any school for those F's. They just show how lazy you are when it comes to things that aren't required. There are plenty of others who would go above and beyond. to be honest, ASU is a crappy school and i wouldn't be surprised if they never said a thing to you about it. people go to that school to drink and get laid. it's a fact. Maybe but I know for a fact that does not apply to everyone...

L3thal Veteran Posted June 7, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 7, 2004 Looks like these people here don't know how things work. When applying, colleges mainly look at Junior year, but they do look at your freshman and sophomore year as well. Anyway, they don't really look at your senior year, but if they do, they can only look at 1st semester since after that, they need to give the applyers a yes or no on acceptance. If you got those F's after January of this year, you can get away from them looking at them. As long as you got good grades before and a good SAT/ACT score, you are accepted. If you are not a great student, it really helps to show improvement into your senior year to show them the effort that you make.
