Porthos SG1
We have had the digital package from our cable company for a few months now. From my experience, I prefer basic cable! My issues: 1) Can't watch a digital channel and download (PC) at the same time without the tv glitching. 2) I can never watch a "on demand" movie, it always glitches! Yet my family can watch just fine. Question, would a signal amplifier do any good? Yes, I have called the cable company...both issues seem to disappear when the tech arrives.
rumbleph1$h
I've NEVER had anything like that happen.... signal amplifier may help...... is the wiring very old in your home or something? also - how many times is your cable split?
Frank
I have digital cable (6 Digital Boxes, 2 HD Boxes, one PVR, and 3 Normal Digital Boxes) and I have never had the problems you speak of. It may be the wiring in your house, or maybe the splitter you are using at your box. Maybe you should record it when it happens, to show it to the tech. Then it doesn't matter if it disappears when he is there or not. /Edit: Just for some more info, I have a 10 way splitter at my cable box installed by the cable company. I had a signal issue once, they came out and replaces my splitters with some really "High Grade" ones, and never had any issues after that. Porthos SG1
The lines in the house are not old. There are two lines. Line 1 has no split, it connects to the TV (with digital cable box). Line 2 is split once, one to a older TV in the bedroom (no box), the other to the cable modem for the PC.
Frank
wow can you watch them all at the same time? LOL. I am usually watching the one attached to my comp, but I have had (in the past) quite a few people living with me at once. I think at one time we had 7 people living in my house. We had quite a few TV's. I now have one empty room, and so one of the boxes should be going back to cox.

Take note of any of the numbers on the splitter and post them back here. Also make sure the cables look good, and none of them look crimped or bent really bad. Porthos SG1
The lock reminds me of the screws on a NES cart, only bigger. Bright House Networks
Galley
I had the complete digital cable package FREE when my old roommate worked for Charter. It was such a POS, I told them they could keep it.
