hi were can i get a vs not .net copy trial becuse i hate being told not to use .net but its all i got

Why shouldn't you use .NET? :huh: There isn't any "non-.NET" version of Visual Studio, at least not a current one... :ermm:

can you write a totally native app in VS.Net without lots of fiddling on?

Sure you can, it supports C++ and C++ with managed extensions. But I suggest using C# or maybe even VB.NET instead :p

if you are at a college or university that has a deal with MS to sell Visual Studio.NET 2002/2003 Academic Edition at dirt cheap prices, then buy it. it came with the ability to build navite apps as well as .NET apps.

also, if i recall correctly, VC++ 6 was made before Standard ANSI/ISO C++ was "formed", so the C++ compiler that comes with Visual Studio.NET will be better standards complient, in that respect.
