Gsce Math test

Recommended Posts

Ok today i had my Gcse maths test and on the first paper Section A. At the end of it a question stumped me it was something like theres a box of 100 titles at 1cm squared each, jake(can't remember the names) takes out some titles and makes a square, Saly(yet again can't remember names) uses the rest of the titles to make a square. Did anyone get this question on there paper? If so how did you work it out.

Ours is AQA, fuel, i gave it to you that what it said, i am sure of it

Everything needed to answer the question is there. Because both kids make squares that means that you are looking for a sum of two squares that makes one hundred. 6^2 + 8^2 = 36 +64 =100.

thanks ajaj, it makes sense now lol. your the first to tell me. Want a cookie?

Nope. But if you want you can do my exam on general relativity. Actually no offense but I think I probably better take it, examiners are pretty mean about that sort of stuff.

I just had OCR Mathematics A Paper 5 paper (Higher , Non-calculator), god it was hard, the questions just happened to fall on most of my weaknesses, but everyone found it hard. So I am hoping that the whole country does bad and then the grade boundaries will get moved. YAY. :woot:

well i think the exams board are sorta out of touch one of the questions was, here is a menu, write down the mix you can have of main course and derset, so like fish + chips with rice pudding, fish + chips with cake, pie and mash with rice pudding, pie and mash with cake.

how's that maths? some questions are just stupid

Being able to figure out the number of ways you can combine/arrange different things is an important part of maths. They shouldn't have to phrase it in terms of fish and chips though.

now don?t call me a noob but he said say you have ?13.60 and you need to work out that times (x) 36 or something you could do x10 x10 x10 x3 x3 but that dont work?
