Expanding a loan company's spreadsheet...

OK, I'm not going to bulls**t anyone - this is part of my homework. I'm really struggling with this and have been for over a week and I really need help. I don't expect anyone to write my work, just to give me ideas.

I have created a spreadsheet in Excel for a loan company (called Loan Shark). In this spreadsheet, they can add and update loan details using nice forms done in VBA and they can view present loans, including statistics, charts and such based on those figures. Now for the problem:

(d) Discuss how this application could be further developed and whether these developments could be supported tottally by use of a computerized system. (In particular idendify any areas that could not be supported through the computerized system.)

All the ideas I've had is to "extend and normalize the data", ie. turn it into a database, to tie it in with the parent company's records, assuming there is a parent company and it's a bank, and to directly transfer the funds and the repayments automatically electronicly. I can't think of a damned thing that could not be supported, but it's clear that this is at least 50% of the score for part D.
