proph3t
Hey everyone! July 1st I'm gonna be heading on a 3 week vacation to Brasil con mi vova, and was wondering what are the "must-sees" and things to do there and maybe even stuff i should know how to say (must say i dont know portugese). For the first 3 days we'll be on Ipanema beach in Rio, then we will head to Brasilia for the rest of the trip. So any recomendations on what to do and see? Thanks! SOOPAH256
my dad lived in brazil for a little bit. he told me quite a lot about the music behind the culture. you can always find people at a public place like a coffee shop just creating music with utencils, like spoons, straws (w/ cups), etc i'd love to hear back from you if you encounter any of these true muscians with music in their blood. cpu killer
Talking from Rio de Janeiro m8 (I am a local :p) ;). While your here, theres plenty of stuff to see - just the beach in Ipanema will blow your mind, beautiful women, great beach , careful because sometimes the sea gets rough, you DONT want to take chances with the sea here in Rio... Anyways, moving on - as you know we have some of the best adult entertainment around :D And cheap ;). Look for "Villa Mimosa", if you're into that. Next, theres the high-rise train on the sugar loaf, which will take you from one of them to the other, its a nice ride and the view is incredible. Also, the Corcovado - its where the large statue of jesus christ stands, its an awesome trip and you can climb up the insides, I believe (haven't gone in a while). Just be sure to check out the streets, the beach walk is amazing - be sure to head down the street lane closest to the beach on sundays, its closed for walking traffic (pedestrians). Night life is good, always fun to take a stroll outside and meet places - be careful, dont walk with expensive/valuable stuff, and dont stick yourself in places too far from the public, if you're too alone, dont stay there be somewere with lots of people , remember Rio is only dangerous if you are at the wrong place at the wrong time. Dont wear valuables, or wear wayyyy to expensive clothes in Rio, its dangerous - specially large necklaces, people will rip it right off your neck, and take you along if they have to. Just be careful. and you'll be OK - Rio is only dangerous if you dont know what your doing, so basically, if you dont know where you are, dont stay there ;). Any other tips you may want, just contact me ...I'll be glad to help you out ;). BTW: Grandma/Abuela in portuguese is no "vova", its "vov?", and grandpa is "vov?", so either he made a spelling mistake , or he means something els;);).
