College Decision

Recommended Posts

I just want to get some opinions on a big decision I'm about to make. My dilemma is whether or not to go to University of Arizona and get my acdemics, partying, and meet tons of people. Or I can go to a community college and play with my best friend for a year, and most likely get a big scholarship offer (im pretty good and 6'9). The real problem is if I stay at a cc I mean I know ill play w/ my best friend again, but there is absolutely nothing to do in Phoenix. I mean friday, saturday, sundays feel like monday, tuesday, wednesday, and whenever I go to U of A I have a kickass time and usually get some from them sorority ladies, but I'll be leaving a lot of my friends behind and I dont wanna go to U of A and regret it ya know? Also my parents keep pressuring me to go to CC to play w/ my best friend and probably get that full ride to some other college. But they said they would help most of the way if I went to U of A. So it pretty much comes down to playing with my best friend and taking up most of time for a year, or go to U of A live with my roommate and just pretty much party my ass off but not see most of my friends anymore. I'm just really stuck

i think that you should do what is best for your future and not what is best for right now. "friends" come and go. and as for partying, i still dont understand what is so fun about it, but then again im not really the "going out" type of person. i think that "University of Arizona" would look much better on a diploma and your resume than "_________ community college". but that is just my opinion.

ok. for example, while i was in high school i went ahead an took college courses at the local community college, as well as concurrent enrollment classes. then i went ahead and tranfered to the local university where i kept all of my college credits for high school. during the summer, i find it best to reapply to the local community college to take "cheap courses" that i may need for my major and then simply transfer the hourse back to the univeristy.

thats how i do it. overall, it is cheaper than going to the university for summer courses.

don't plan to party if you're serious about going to college.

go to a cc first to take classes that will transfer the 4yr college...that'll save you some money. don't worry about what your best friend is doing and don't worry about leaving your friends for a 4yr college. you'll either stay in touch or you'll move on. i know very few people who are still best buds with the people they went to hs with.
