How Old Were You When You Moved Out?

OT, you guys moved out quite early! Own house at 19, wow. I'm 17 so I still live with my parents and I don't really plant to move out for a few years at least. I would be nice to be independent and whatnot but even if I had a really well paying job I wouldn't be able to buy an apartment let alone a house for a long time. Condos here = at least $100,000; houses are upwards of $300,000. :pinch:

@NFC Wave, were you the guy whose parents made him pay them for everything even though they're both well-off? Give them your paychecks and stuff? If so I'm glad you're moving out (Y)

Over here it starts at 150K then goes to 500+K

I am quite happy with living with my parents at the moment, because I have a pretty alright deal.

I'm 20 in October, and at the moment I'm still studying for my BTEC (I finish in 2 week's time), so I live here rent free, and I have no job, because I'm a lazy arse! Well no, the real reason is there's no point now, as I should be in full time work in a month's time, with any luck! Not sure where though.

When I get my job, I'll be paying ?35 a month, including everything, which I think is extremely fair, considering. I have my own room, a good PC to use, which is basically mine, internet connection (although shared), food etc all included.

I think I'll either move out once the arguments get too much (none at the moment, but I'm sure they're to come), or when I've bought all the stuff I want and saved up enough for a place to rent (was considering buying, but there isnt any point with prices so high at the moment, and I dont want to stay in the UK if I can help it). I wont move out unless I know I will be able to live comfortably, without risking not paying bills.

I was 20 when I moved out. Went to school in San Diego but droped out... found a job and stayed there for about a year and a half then lost my job and came back... A few months later, went to live with my father and went back to school but had to leave because he moved back to Puerto Rico so yes I was home again... Not to long after that, I packed up my stuff and moved to good ol' Las Vegas (which I loved)... went back to school, got a good job BUT, had a very bad gambling problem and I had to move back... I'm 24 by this time... So now I was back home and I thought to myself, I'm going to get a good job again and move out for the 3rd time but insted I get a heart attack... after that little eye opener, I went back to school and finished about 7 months later and by this time I'm 25 years old... I had a good job after school ended at a navy base but it was a contract job and didn't last very long and now I'm having a hard time finding a job and living in Cali. you need a good amount of money to live on... SOOOOOOOOO! I'm 27 now, still living at home and pulling my hair out... but I'm starting a little business so I'll have some money and my mother might be getting transfer out to AZ so I'm not going to worry about moving out again in Cali. and just go with her and find a job out in AZ and then get my own place...

sorry for the long story :)

I moved out when I was 17, and that was 5 years ago, was so good, no one can control me smoking, no one moaning me no more, but it was hard when i first moved out, coz before then I've never washed a single dish, never boiled an egg, never touched washing machine....

The reason I moved out was because I had to come to the UK>>>>>>

Wave,Jun 9 2004, 15:17] I am in the process of finding a place to move out of for various reasons. I'm 20 years old and was wondering how old the rest of you Neowinians were when you decided to move out and why.

Me;

Age - 20 years old.

Reason - parents forcing unreasonable living conditions upon me, need independance.

Hey, cool to hear that man :D , btw, are you moving out with teh girl?

Back on topic, im 17 and haven't moved out, but I'm thinking of moving to another city next year to go to college there :)
